Here’s What Our Customers Are Saying:
Ferdy is the exact kind of contractor you hope to find walk onto your property - creative, efficient, attentive to detail and personable. He listened to my project needs (I wanted to turn my janky basement that opened into my house's crawl space into a nice wine cellar) and came up with some great, cost-effective solutions to endure the project turned out great. When I threw him curve balls during the process, he didn't hesitate, instead knocking them out of the park. He took electrical work, brought in a plumber to move some gas pipes around and had a metal guy craft a stunning new railing for the stairs. Importantly, his crew worked safely in the midst of the pandemic. I made a point to observe that and am happy to report they were masked and careful the entire time they were inside the premises. This was clearly a smaller project compared to other stuff they usually do but at NO point did I feel like I was being attended to. Just absolutely great work and customer service. Can't wait to use them again!!
After a complete interior renovation, I fully recommend Ferdy and the FHS Construction crew. They are highly professional and extremely pleasant to work with. When change orders came up, Ferdy was very fair in his quotes for extra work and I appreciated that he was creative with finding solutions as we needed them. Elias was our project manager and he was always available to meet with us and ensure everything was moving forward. The crew did a total renovation - from down to the studs to new hvac/plumbing to kitchen cabinets to exterior concrete and new stucco finish - FHS could do it all and do it very reasonably. FHS was also great at working with my pool contractor and I appreciated the extra collaboration at no charge. The house came out exactly as I wanted it and I am so grateful to Ferdy and his crew for their hard work!
FHS built a brand new kitchen, painted entire house, rebuilt the fascia of the fireplace, and more. My biggest praise goes out to Ferdy's team...from the tile guy (basically an artist), to the painters, the countertop manufacturer, the talented handyman, and everyone else that was working hard in my house. Truly impressed by all of them. I'm thankful that I found FHS.
Just completed a master bath remodel. I've had the unfortunate fortune, of working on over 20 some plus homes, all of which have had some type of construction, remodeling, or contracting work done on them. From foundation to roof... everything inside and out I pretty much did everything... "jack of all trades master of few"
I was also a consultant on many multimillion dollar, construction and installations, so I have had a pretty broad perspective of worksites and Customer inner-face as I have sat on both sides of the aisle.
As far as project managers go Javier Basso was a diamond in the rough.
When we first met Javier, his quiet, even tempered calming presence Made me question my previous conception of contractors, which are usually pretty strong willed, opinionated, confident to a fault, and at times lacking ongoing empathy, as projects and conflict arise.
Not to mention the endless calls they have to answer on the daily.
I've also had the overzealous logo wearing polo shirt project managers, who couldn't tell you the difference between a Flathead and a pan head screw. Nor why a right Angle and levels are critical to any project.
Javier Basso had a broad knowledge of mechanical and workmanship details needed in a high-quality remodeling project. If I had a question about some type of Repair, and Javier did not the answer, he will inquire and find the correct answer.
FHC's General contractor's license holder is "Ferdy" he was quiet, helpful, informed and in a few minutes, put me at rest as he appeared to be someone who is in the prime of his contracting years.
After receiving three bids, all of which were within 1000 or $2000 of each other we decided to go with FHC. The project did run a couple weeks late, as just about every project I've ever worked on has, but their workmanship and their ability to correct issues that the customer felt was wrong was near effortless. Javier made us feel valued and always had a positive attitude.
I have a medium size project coming up and would use FHC again. The caveat is they appeared to be getting very busy but worth the consultation and call.
If you've had construction projects, go awry as many of them do it would be worth the wait for FHC.
They actually realize that their construction site was my home. It is amazing how many workers forget the concept that their worksite is where someone sleeps at night. Having to remind someone to sweep the floors, pick up their discarded nails or tire damaging screws is no longer a viable option. I am done asking adults to clean take their trash and clear The doorway.
Javier made it all happen seamlessly At the end of the day, they cleaned up and left your home as clean as responsibly able.
FHC is worth a bid. Best of
Luck.
One of the best contractors I've ever worked with. Just purchased a home and wanted to extend a wall. Met with them on Friday, Saturday they started, Monday it was done! Great work, great guys, great price. Hire them!
This is the company you want to hire! They remodeled our kitchen and bathroom. Ferdy and Elias were great to work with. One or both of them came by the house daily to make sure things were progressing as planned. Both were easy to contact, always responding quickly to calls or texts. Elias was our project manager. You couldn't ask for a nicer guy. He made us feel like we were his top priority and made sure we understood every stage of the process. He was also very flexible when we wanted to make changes. Their staff was professional and courteous. The quality of the work is superior. Their designer created a thoughtful plan so we could maximize the space in our small eat-in kitchen. The cabinet makers worked quickly and paid attention to all the details. In the bathroom the team helped us reimagine the space to create additional storage. They all went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with the finished product. I can't stress enough how easy it was to work with them and how reasonable their quote was. Ferdy has created a top-notch company. I would not hesitate calling them for our next project.
We used FHS for a remodel project that involved a room addition, an ADU conversion, and an outdoors room (covered concrete patio). The business owner Ferdy has built a team of talented and hardworking professionals who delivered on a rather complex project with a lot of details. Our house is more than 100 years old and FHS was attentive to our requests in ensuring that the new construction would integrate the existing structure seamlessly. Of all the people on the FHS team, in addition to Ferdy, we interacted with Elias, Antonio, Henry, and Gelson the most. Elias was the project manager, and he was patient, poised, responsive, polite, and organized. He was very flexible in adapting his project management workflow to our needs. Elias was particularly adept at cultivating a good working relationship with inspectors from day 1. Antonio and Henry could handle almost any task you threw at them: framing, plumbing, electrical, concrete, you name it! Antonio was particularly good at tasks that required attention to fine details while Henry was excellent at handling large and complex structures. Gelson had an artistic eye for painting, staining, moldings, and anything that went into the finishing touches. In every construction project, there are times when things go according to plan, and times when problems arise. Whenever a problem occurred, the FHS team was responsive, found a solution, and implemented it effectively. Ferdy's excellent team at FHS is augmented by a network of specialist subcontractors that can handle anything a house needs including tiles, stucco, concrete pour, flooring, railing, cabinetry, etc. All-in-all, FHS is a very capable and professional business whether you're remodeling an existing structure or building a house from scratch.
FHS agreed to do a mix of exterior work for us while we were going to be on an extended visit with family. A major reason we chose FHS to do this work was their willingness to communicate and the overall respectful and professional tenor in all communications leading up to the project. Ferdy and Elias were our main two contacts and they were always reachable and friendly. FHS delivered on all things within their control, did excellent work, and followed up on every single touch up, patch, cleaning need, and anything else we found after the completion of the bulk of the work. They were transparent about costs and clearly do not cut corners but rather accurately price the quality of the work. The main concern we had with a contractor was communication and accessibility (as all horror stories suggest) and we had a great experience especially in that regard with FHS. Highly recommend.
A couple of months ago, we hired FHS Construction to repair storm damage to our home, and the experience could not have gone better. After the Eaton Fire, heavy winds and rain had blown away and damaged shingles on our roof. Water began leaking into one of our bedrooms and left water spots on the dining room ceiling. What could have been a nightmare repair project turned into a smooth and reassuring process thanks to the team at FHS Construction. From the start, the crew was thorough in their inspection and diagnosis. They quickly identified the source of the leak and checked for hidden damage in the roof and ceilings. To prevent more water from coming in, they put up a temporary cover right away until the full repair could begin.
The roof repair itself was handled professionally from top to bottom. Damaged shingles and underlayment were removed and replaced, everything was thoroughly inspected and sealed tightly to prevent future problems.
Inside the bedroom, they removed water-damaged drywall and insulation, treated and cleaned areas affected by moisture and mold, and ensured the space was completely dried out before restoring it. When the remediation was complete, they patched everything up with new drywall, fresh paint, trim work and new carpet so the room looked as good as new. The same attention was given to the dining area ceiling where water spots had formed.
The crew was consistently punctual--showing up on time every morning--and respectful of our home. They cleaned up after themselves daily, and even arranged for a professional cleaner to come through once the project was finished, which was a thoughtful touch.
A special shoutout goes to Javier, the project manager. He kept us informed at every stage, explained what was happening, and always had answers for our questions. He also went above and beyond by helping us communicate with our insurance provider, State Farm. His guidance made a big difference in getting a fair payout to cover the damages. On top of that, he made a kind personal gesture by surprising my wife with a birthday card and a bouquet of flowers during the project -- a thoughtful gesture that meant a lot.
The work wrapped up in about two weeks, just in time for us to host a big family gathering. When we discovered the ceiling fan lights in the bedroom weren't working, we called Javier. He immediately sent someone out the next day to resolve it. That kind of quick follow-up shows their commitment doesn't stop the moment the job is declared finished.
We are seriously happy with the results. The roof is secure, the bedroom looks brand new, and the whole experience was far less stressful than we expected given the circumstances. FHS Construction delivered quality work, clear communication, and outstanding professionalism from start to finish.
If you're looking for a construction company that does solid, thorough work while treating your home with respect, FHS Construction is the team to call. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone in need of trustworthy and skilled contractors.
