Projects
We repaired and restored the front flooring of the house to ensure safety and enhance its aesthetic appeal. The project included replacing damaged sections, reinforcing the structure for stability, and installing durable, high-quality materials that complemented the home’s overall design. With a focus on blending functionality and style, the restored flooring not only improved the home’s appearance but also ensured it would stand the test of time while maintaining its cohesive charm.
FHS Construction undertook a comprehensive remodel of a 100+ year-old home, including a room addition, ADU conversion, and a covered outdoor patio. The project seamlessly blended modern upgrades with the historic structure, ensuring every detail complemented the home’s original character. From framing and plumbing to fine finishes and outdoor spaces, FHS delivered a professional transformation that enhanced functionality and aesthetic appeal, meeting both the practical and design needs of the homeowners.
We renovated the kitchen of this historic Los Angeles cabin, combining modern finishes with timeless character. Partnering with Bunch Design, the project focused on creating an open-concept layout that maximized space and functionality. Key features include accordion doors, which seamlessly connect indoor and outdoor areas, enhancing natural light and airflow while embracing the home’s breathtaking hillside views. The result is a perfect blend of modern design and a deep connection to the surrounding landscape.
At Bakman Ave, FHS Construction revitalized a classic property with a modern touch through a comprehensive renovation. The project seamlessly balanced functionality and aesthetics, ensuring every detail aligned with the client’s vision. From structural upgrades to refined finishes, the transformation enhanced the property’s usability and charm, creating a space that beautifully blends timeless appeal with modern design.
This new construction home in Eagle Rock was designed to reflect clean lines, natural light, and thoughtful craftsmanship. One of its defining features is the custom wood detailing around the windows, adding warmth and texture throughout. The open kitchen serves as the heart of the home, with a layout that flows into the main living areas. Every space was carefully planned to feel modern yet inviting, with subtle design touches that give the home its distinct character.
FHS Construction was commissioned by New Work Design to renovate two bathrooms and repaint the exterior of the home. The bathrooms were transformed with beautiful, timeless, and distinctive tile choices. We removed the existing ceiling to reveal the original timber beams, then crafted a custom floating vanity from the same wood to complement the exposed beams. On the exterior, the home now stands proudly against the serene backdrop of the San Gabriel Mountains, its refreshed look captures a perfect balance of elegance and natural beauty.
We reimagined the front entry of this Venice home by refinishing the porch and entryway flooring. The work included removing worn materials, strengthening the foundation, applying a fresh coat of paint, and installing durable flooring that complements the home’s coastal style. This transformation brought new life to the front of the house, offering an inviting look that reflects the modern vibe of the neighborhood while preserving its classic charm.
We transformed this Ellsmere Ave home through a full remodel that focused on layout improvements, updated finishes, and custom details throughout. The kitchen and bathrooms were completely reimagined with a fresh, cohesive design. Walls were reconfigured to open up the space, enhance natural light, and create better flow between rooms. This renovation gave the home a clean, modern feel while preserving key elements of its original charm.
Testimonials
Here’s What Our Customers Are Saying:
Just completed a master bath remodel. I've had the unfortunate fortune, of working on over 20 some plus homes, all of which have had some type of construction, remodeling, or contracting work done on them. From foundation to roof... everything inside and out I pretty much did everything... "jack of all trades master of few"
I was also a consultant on many multimillion dollar, construction and installations, so I have had a pretty broad perspective of worksites and Customer inner-face as I have sat on both sides of the aisle.
As far as project managers go Javier Basso was a diamond in the rough.
When we first met Javier, his quiet, even tempered calming presence Made me question my previous conception of contractors, which are usually pretty strong willed, opinionated, confident to a fault, and at times lacking ongoing empathy, as projects and conflict arise.
Not to mention the endless calls they have to answer on the daily.
I've also had the overzealous logo wearing polo shirt project managers, who couldn't tell you the difference between a Flathead and a pan head screw. Nor why a right Angle and levels are critical to any project.
Javier Basso had a broad knowledge of mechanical and workmanship details needed in a high-quality remodeling project. If I had a question about some type of Repair, and Javier did not the answer, he will inquire and find the correct answer.
FHC's General contractor's license holder is "Ferdy" he was quiet, helpful, informed and in a few minutes, put me at rest as he appeared to be someone who is in the prime of his contracting years.
After receiving three bids, all of which were within 1000 or $2000 of each other we decided to go with FHC. The project did run a couple weeks late, as just about every project I've ever worked on has, but their workmanship and their ability to correct issues that the customer felt was wrong was near effortless. Javier made us feel valued and always had a positive attitude.
I have a medium size project coming up and would use FHC again. The caveat is they appeared to be getting very busy but worth the consultation and call.
If you've had construction projects, go awry as many of them do it would be worth the wait for FHC.
They actually realize that their construction site was my home. It is amazing how many workers forget the concept that their worksite is where someone sleeps at night. Having to remind someone to sweep the floors, pick up their discarded nails or tire damaging screws is no longer a viable option. I am done asking adults to clean take their trash and clear The doorway.
Javier made it all happen seamlessly At the end of the day, they cleaned up and left your home as clean as responsibly able.
FHC is worth a bid. Best of
Luck.
I contacted FHS to give me an estimate for fixing an exterior water drainage issue made worse by last winter's rain. They were knowledgeable about the problem and laid out a very competitive proposal. I ultimately didn't proceed with their bid, but wanted to highlight their professionalism and communication throughout the complex estimate process. Wouldn't hesitate to reach out again.
We used FHS for a remodel project that involved a room addition, an ADU conversion, and an outdoors room (covered concrete patio). The business owner Ferdy has built a team of talented and hardworking professionals who delivered on a rather complex project with a lot of details. Our house is more than 100 years old and FHS was attentive to our requests in ensuring that the new construction would integrate the existing structure seamlessly. Of all the people on the FHS team, in addition to Ferdy, we interacted with Elias, Antonio, Henry, and Gelson the most. Elias was the project manager, and he was patient, poised, responsive, polite, and organized. He was very flexible in adapting his project management workflow to our needs. Elias was particularly adept at cultivating a good working relationship with inspectors from day 1. Antonio and Henry could handle almost any task you threw at them: framing, plumbing, electrical, concrete, you name it! Antonio was particularly good at tasks that required attention to fine details while Henry was excellent at handling large and complex structures. Gelson had an artistic eye for painting, staining, moldings, and anything that went into the finishing touches. In every construction project, there are times when things go according to plan, and times when problems arise. Whenever a problem occurred, the FHS team was responsive, found a solution, and implemented it effectively. Ferdy's excellent team at FHS is augmented by a network of specialist subcontractors that can handle anything a house needs including tiles, stucco, concrete pour, flooring, railing, cabinetry, etc. All-in-all, FHS is a very capable and professional business whether you're remodeling an existing structure or building a house from scratch.
I had a complete bathroom remodel and I am very happy with the results. Elias was my project manager and he was great to work with. He was always available if I had any questions or concerns. The workers were all polite and very professional. Elias stopped by every day to check on the progress. I had a small issue that I was not happy with and Elias took care of it immediately. I love my new bathroom and if I have any future work done I will definitely have FHS Construction do the work.
We had a great experience working with FHS Construction on our garage renovation. Ferdy and his team made our first experience with home remodeling a very pleasant one. The communication was excellent and they made sure we were kept up to date throughout the entire project. We made a few changes along the way and they were quick to accommodate them and were very up front when it came to costs. We're very happy with the work they did and would highly recommend them for all renovation needs.
We did a total kitchen remodel with Ferdy and his team. We knocked out walls and ceiling, did custom cabinetry, custom countertops and tiled the floor. Working with them was a great experience. There were so many jobs to be done and we were so happy with the final result. They were easy to communicate with, always available and the whole crew is kind and professional. I would recommend them to anyone and will definitely be asking them to work with us on future projects.
FHS painted the exterior of our house and built a new front porch and front yard gate to match. They also knocked out part of an interior load-bearing wall and installed a really cool looking metal frame, and built us a custom banquette to match our existing kitchen cabinets. Ferdy, Elias, and Irvin were great to work with and very responsive to questions / concerns. Their team of workman and craftsmen also did great work and were very professional. Competitive prices, very good workmanship - overall a pretty stress-free experience. Would definitely recommend them and would use them again in future.
I can't say ENOUGH how incredible this company is. This was the 1st time using a construction company where I was relaxed the entire time. I never felt the need to check and see what they were doing. They were punctual. Used their own tools Immediately cleaned up after themselves. Went above and beyond what they needed to do. And. I am so HAPPY with the results! My next project will DEFINITELY include FHS!
ferdy and his team at fhs did our full house and kitchen remodel. they were really great to work with and we highly recommend them. their craftsmanship and attention to detail was impressive. they care about their work. they were also very communicative and available to answer questions and address any issues throughout the project. plus, we'd definitely hire them again and have already recommended them to several friends.
